The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Sonny (Dev Patel) has begun his dream of expanding his business with 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', but it's hard to balance running a hotel with planning a wedding.

With the first hotel proving a huge success, he needs to buy another to accommodate new guests Guy (Richard Gere) and Lavinia (Tamsin Grieg), while Evelyn (Judi Dench) and Douglas (Bill Nighy) have joined the workforce. Chaos ensues as the attempt to plan a traditional Indian wedding threatens to engulf them all.

Also starring Maggie Smith, 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' is a charming ensemble comedy which brings fresh faces to the series.

Birdman

Years ago, Riggan Thomson (Keaton) shot to fame after playing the superhero 'Birdman' in a Hollywood blockbuster. Washed-up and typecast, he decides to make a comeback in a Broadway play.

In the build-up to opening night, Riggan's superhero alter ego haunts him and he clashes with arrogant fellow actor Mike (Edward Norton). In spite of everything, he remains determined to re-establish his career and fix the mess of his life.

Opening to wild acclaim at the Venice Film Festival, 'Birdman' blurs fact and fiction with its casting of Tim Burton's Batman as the lead, in a bizarre, surreal satire of showbusiness.

Whiplash

'Whiplash' follows Andrew Neyman, a talented drummer who is chosen by conductor Terence Fletcher to be in his band. But Fletcher is an obsessive perfectionist who bullies and demeans him.

Seeing huge potential in Andrew, Fletcher will stop at nothing to bring his talent to full fruition, even throwing chairs at him for playing out of tempo. Before long, Andrew has become as single-minded as his conductor, growing increasingly distant from his family and girlfriend to focus exclusively on his music.

Receiving unanimous praise at its Sundance Film Festival premiere, 'Whiplash' stars J.K. Simmons ('Spider-Man', 'Burn After Reading') as Fletcher and Miles Teller ('Divergent') as Andrew.

Richard Linklater's time-lapse drama 'Boyhood' tracks the growth of a young boy from childhood through to the onset of adulthood.

This epic family drama follows Mason as he grows from a boy into a man, documenting his experiences of everyday family life as well as the milestone moments of his childhood and adolescence. Shot over 12 years, this unique drama captures its cast members ageing in real time.

'Boyhood' director Richard Linklater is the filmmaker behind the acclaimed 'Before Sunrise/Before Sunset/Before Midnight' series.

Selma

The 1965 marches demanding equal voting rights for African-Americans began in the town of 'Selma'. Led by Martin Luther King, the marches were landmarks in the American civil rights movement.

The first march took place on what became known as 'Bloody Sunday'. 600 marchers, protesting the death of 26-year-old Jimmie Lee Jackson and their exclusion from the voting process, were attacked by police using clubs and tear gas. Following two more marches, the Voting Rights Act was passed, which prohibited racial discrimination in voting.

Starring David Oyelowo as Martin Luther King, 'Selma' is the big-screen account of one of the pivotal moments in American history.

American Sniper

Bradley Cooper stars as Chris Kyle, the 'American Sniper', who became the most lethal sniper in United States military history during his service in Iraq, with 160 confirmed kills. Over the course of four tours, during which Kyle claimed that the Iraqi insurgents named him the 'Devil of Ramadi', he received many medals for valour including two Silver Stars, and was wounded twice. While he had 160 confirmed kills, he claimed to have made over 250.

'American Sniper' combines the talents of legendary director Clint Eastwood ('Million Dollar Baby') with two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper.

The Imitation Game

Thriller 'The Imitation Game' centres on the English mathematician and cryptographer who helped crack the Nazi's Enigma code during World War II.

As the Allied forces fought on the battlefields, a team of young geniuses led by the brilliant computer scientist Alan Turing were in a race against time at the Bletchley Park code-breaking centre, trying desperately to demystify the Enigma code used by the Axis powers to protect their communications.

Despite Turing's contributions to the war effort, he was later prosecuted for acts of 'gross indecency' after engaging in homosexual relations. 'The Imitation Game' also stars Keira Knightley (Atonement).

Testament of Youth

Based on the memoirs of Vera Brittain, 'Testament Of Youth' is the story of how she gave up her Oxford scholarship to become a nurse during the First World War. 

Falling in love with her brother's friend Roland, their dreams and ambitions are shattered by the War, which sees her brother and Roland called up to fight. As a nurse at the front, tending the dead and dying, Vera sees the War's horrors first-hand.  

Starring Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington ('Game Of Thrones') 'Testament Of Youth' is a poignant reminder of the young lives lost in the First World War.

Focus

'Focus' follows Nicky (Will Smith), an accomplished con artist who tries to teach Jess (Margot Robbie) the tricks of the trade. Things get complicated when they become romantically involved.

Jess, while inexperienced and slightly amateurish, turns out to be a natural con artist and pickpocket, and it's not long before they're trying to pull off the big con that will allow them to retire. But in their confidence, they've picked the wrong mark this time.

With lead performances from Will Smith ('Independence Day') and rising star Margot Robbie ('The Wolf Of Wall Street'), 'Focus' is a light-hearted, romantic comedy caper.
